Giles Dixon CVGiles Dixon has some 30 years experience as a solicitor in general commercial, energy, construction and engineering projects including the drafting and negotiation of documentation. During his career he lived for some 12 years overseas, mainly in the Gulf, and has worked as an in-house lawyer as well as in private practice. He was a partner with a City law firm in London from 1989, when he returned to England after eight years in the UAE , until May 2002 when he established his own legal consultancy.

Partner, Turner Kenneth Brown. Joined TKB to head up their Construction Department in 1989. Worked on a range of UK and international projects during this period including LNG, methanol and MTBE projects in the Gulf and power projects and general construction in the UK . Turner Kenneth Brown merged with Nabarro Nathanson in 1995.
1981 to 1989
Based in the UAE - Four years as in-house Counsel with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company( whose shareholders were BP,Mitsui, Total and ADNOC) and four years as Managing Partner of Fox & Gibbons in Dubai where a wide range of commercial, banking and engineering and energy work was undertaken.
Before going overseas, Giles Dixon was a partner for several years in the West End practice where he served his articles, Ellis Peirs & Young Jackson.
He qualified as a solicitor in 1968 having read law at Oxford University (New College) where he obtained his M.A.
Since returning to London, he has maintained his links with the Middle East, visiting the region regularly as well as travelling to Eastern Europe, the USA and China on a range of professional assignments.

He is the founder and managing director of The ContractStore Limited, a company which sells commercial and construction contracts online (www.contractstore.com)
He is an active member of BCCB Worldwide (formerly the British Consultants Bureau) and was a director for 6 years, during which time he was involved in the negotiations that led to the integration of The ICG (International Contractors Group) into BCCB.
He was a Director of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) from 1999 to 2002. He has been involved with CEDR since it was formed in 1991 and has recently prepared a model form of multiple choice Dispute Resolution Schedule which CEDR is promoting to the UK Government for use in PFI and other long term project contracts. He has chaired CEDR committees on the drafting of the CEDR Adjudication Rules and on ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) clauses.
He is an accredited CEDR Mediator and an accredited ADR Group Mediator.
He is co-author of the recently published Be Collaborative Contract, a new contract for use in the construction industry with many innovative features. (Be is the acronym for Collaborating for the Built Environment, an organisation with some 100 members who include major developers, contractors and consultants in the UK.)
He contributed the chapter on international construction to the latest edition of Schmitthoff on the Law of International Trade. He is also co-author of a book on dispute resolution in the construction industry.
He is an honorary member and a past Chairman of the Middle East Association.
He is a member of the International Bar Association and a member of The Law Society of England.
