Fixed Price Services

Contract Preparation

Legal fees are usually calculated by reference to the time spent on a project. This means there is uncertainty for the client on what the final cost will be.

At Giles Dixon Legal Consultancy we have decided to offer clients a low cost fixed price service for the preparation of certain contracts.

In order to take advantage of this service we ask you to contact us with the details requested.  We will then ask you to complete a short questionnaire relating to the service you require and we will then give you a firm price and prepare the contract based on your answers.  The fixed fee contains an allowance for time spent by us in finalising the document after we receive your comments.

The fixed price service is offered, initially, for the following:

   Construction Documents:

  • Appointment of Architect, Engineer or other Professional Consultant
  • Supply & Installation Contract
  • Collateral Warranty Agreement
  • Pre-Bid Agreement
  • Joint Venture Agreement

  Commercial Documents

  • Shareholders' Agreement – for 2 or more individuals who are shareholders in a private limited company – either a new or existing company
  • Partnership Agreement -  for 2 or more individuals who are setting up a new   partnership or regularising their arrangements under an existing partnership
  • Joint Venture Agreement – for 2 or more companies (or individuals) who are  joining forces to bid for and, if successful, carry out a project for work or services

  Pricing

Indicative Prices range from £90 to £750 excluding VAT depending on the document you require.

Contracts Review

For a modest fixed fee we will undertake a preliminary audit and identify gaps in your standard contracts – e.g. absence of contracts that should be in place plus problems with the contracts that do exist. The review will generate a short report comprising a high level assessment of key problems and identifying obvious problems,  with cost-effective recommendations for any standard documents you may require.

The review will cover such questions as:

Do your contracts limit liability for failure to perform?

Do your contracts allow you to suspend your obligations in a crisis or are you open to claims    from suppliers or customers?

If you are interested in any of these services, please contact us.

Note:  All fixed fee services are covered by professional indemnity insurance and are subject to our standard Terms of Business.
