Dispute Avoidance and Resolution from Giles Dixon Legal Consultancy

We can assist with:

  • drafting dispute mechanism clauses for major/long term contracts
  • setting up of mediation and other ADR procedures
  • tactics and strategy in the handling of contractual disputes

Giles Dixon has been involved with CEDR (the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution), the leading organisation in the UK for the resolution of disputes using ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) techniques since its inception in 1991 and served as a non-executive director for three years from 1999-2002.

He drafted the original Adjudication Rules for CEDR. He also  prepared for CEDR a multiple dispute mechanism schedule for use in PFI and other long term contracts which was promoted to UK Government Departments.

This can be viewed and downloaded as an Acrobat PDF from CEDR's website at: http://www.cedr.co.uk/library/documents/drpforpfi.pdf  (You will need to install Acrobat Reader to access the file, if you don't already have it.)

We can act as a Project Adviser, assisting the parties to a contract in resolving difficulties without recourse to legal proceedings.
